A paradise among olive trees
On the rolling hills of the Black Rooster area, in the very heart of Chianti, between Radda, Castellina and Vagliagli sits Pornanino, a lovingly restored biological olive oil estate surrounded by 36 hectares of olive groves and wooded hills. The rivers Arbia and Serchio mark the boundaries.
The owner’s Franco and Lia are part of a group of newly formed farmers who came from major European and Italian cities in search of a slower-paced lifestyle where basic values of life are emphasised in everyday living.
Their daughter Francesca and son-in-law Matteo have now taken on the role of cultivators and producers of the top-quality biological extra virgin olive oil with great passion.
Matteo now conducts the presentation and tasting of the oil, with Francesca who also occupies herself with the guests.

Situated in a panoramic position, ten minutes drive from the famous Chianti medieval town of Radda in Chianti.
Cottages
The main house and two stone built barns, Capannino and Leccino cottages, have been renovated to excellent standards and appointed with the same warm style as our own homes, with antique furniture enhancing beamed ceilings and cotto floors.
Olive Oil
As totally committed and enthusiastic producers, the Lombardi family takes great pride in the quality of their extra virgin olive oil. We care for our olive trees ourselves, hand harvest the olives and cold press them within hours in our own stone mill.
Surroundings
Situated in a panoramic position, Pornanino can be located close to Radda in Chianti. A splendid hill-top little town with cobbled streets and a good choice of restaurants and bars. Nearby, one can visit Siena, Florence Castellina, Gaiole and many other places of interest.
